NAPLES, FL - The 2006 CEO Golf Challenge took place at the luxurious Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort in Naples, Florida, October 12-15. This inaugural event was a resounding success, with 90% of the CEO participants rating the experience as "Far exceeding their expectations"! After three days of golf, it was Canadian Jim Frye who won the tournament. Jim, who is the CEO of Jim McLean Golf Schools Canada had a two day total of 161 to capture the title. Going head to head with runner up Jim Magnusson from WCI Properties, both gentlemen were two over after nine holes of the final round on the very demanding Black course at Tiburon. After sinking a couple of birdies on the first three holes on the back, Frye was able to hold on and shoot 80 to win the tournament. All of this was in front of television cameras and will be aired on Fox Sports in November. As winner, Jim earns an exemption to the CEO Golf Challenge World Championship in 2007 and a trip for two to the luxurious, award winning Fancourt Resort in George, South Africa including accommodations and golf for one week. The CEO's and the pros had the privilege of playing at Tuscany Reserve Golf Club for one of the practice rounds. This ultra exclusive golf club community with a Tuscan flair was thoroughly enjoyed by all and certainly provided a true test of golf. Players were heard to say that the stunning beauty and fabulous condition of Tuscany Reserve rivalled Augusta National. We are absolutely thrilled with the feedback on this first year event stated Joanne Noble, President of the CEO Golf Challenge. In addition to this success, a very important component to all of our CEO Challenges is being able to donate to charity, and we are very happy to report $2,500 will be going to the Prostate Cancer Foundation on behalf of the CEO Golf Challenge participants. Noble continues, our goal is to find the Best CEO Golfer in the World and also, equally important, to create a platform for executives alike to be able to network amongst themselves. It was clearly evident right from the start at our Thursday Night Welcome Dinner that all of the participants immediately respected each others accomplishments and before long the discussions turned into business opportunities to work together. It may have been the golf that attracted the CEOs to take part, but it was the networking and friendships that were formed over the four days that they really enjoyed. Networking and business building is the unique component of our CEO Challenge events, and the reason they are becoming so popular, stated Ted Kennedy, President of CEO Challenges. It's a great feeling to put a number of CEOs together and watch the magic happen and to see thembecome friends over the days together, and discover ways they can help each other in business. And of course we love nothing better than to watch them compete head-to-head in a sport competition to see who the best is. The 2007 CEO Golf Challenge schedule includes tournaments scheduled for Canada, the UK, Augusta, and South Africa. Each will act as a qualifier for the 2007 CEO Golf Challenge World Championship that will take place in the Fall. CEOs must qualify at one of the 10 events throughout the year to be eligible to take part in the World Championship and contest for the title of Best CEO Golfer in the World.
